45 combine water pump

Is this the nut behind the pulley? I had to use a gear puller to move it slightly forward to get any tool in their to take it off. The pulley now has a notch cut in it for access. Good luck, this is not a fun job.

Also, if I remember correctly I might have used an automotive steering wheel puller, there isn't a lot of room between the water pump and radiator to get a serious gear puller in there. You do not need to remove it entirely. Just try and make more space behind it. I think I might have also used jointed socket extensions to bend around the pulley. Either way, when you get the pulley off, cut a half circle notch in it to clear a socket.
