What are the adjustment specs for the idler for the traction drive belt on an early K2? It seems too lose when in slow position and too tight in fast position. Any tips for replacing the governor box seal? Thanks
 
It's pretty standard for variable speed pulleys to run them all the way slow, and adjust the idler so that the spring loaded sheave halves don't quite touch. That way there's always some tension on the belt. The driven/lower/spring loaded pulley needs to be in proper working order. It's not real common, but they can get a build up of material to where they don't move as far as they should.
