We recently acquired what is believed to be a 1968 John Deere 45 with the 10" Grain Platform. We wished to use the combine for Corn as well. We managed to get our hands on a JD 235 Corn Head, now the problem that arises is that the head is for a 55. With a background in machining and fabricating, modifying the feeder house to fit the 45 was no problem. The issue that I have run into is that the Drive for the Corn head is a chain drive with a 6" sprocket, where the drive on the 45 Combine is a belt. Does anyone out there have any pictures of a 55 with the Corn Head Drive. I"m curious to see how it is set up and how I can continue in my Modification
Thanks,
