McCormick Thresher.......

I'm restoring my grandad's McCormick IH thresher....belt driven; he bought new in the 30's maybe? Not sure....have had it running this summer but still need a few items; 4" flat belt- used is fine; no one local has any. Also bottom auger that takes the grain across to the "unloading chain" needs new "flighting" on it.... then should be good to go. Any ideas out there? Thanks!

I am sure some one on here can help with the belt, think you can even buy new. On the auger ,if its a common size, flighting is easy to find and attach as long as the auger is in good enough shape to weld to. Might check with local mill wrights as they my have a piece laying around you can pick up cheap. Where are you located?

I did find 4" belting today ....and the "salvage guy" says he has flighting....i'm on the right track! Thanks !

Were did you find the belting? I have a late McCormick Deering thresher 22x38. Its fully functional and I think it was made around or after WW II because it is mounted on factory rubber. I have the original belts but when I installed them and ran the machine the belts started coming apart.

I got this from Smokstak and it seems to be accurate for years on the threshers.
