Here are some pictures of my IH 230 windrower - just wanted to share.

Years ago there were several of those around but they had an auger head with rolls and most had a half cab. They might have been a different model but I always thought they were neat looking. Thanks for posting as I enjoy the older equipment pics. Tom

It has the IH C153 water cooled engine.

Machine works great - I do need a reel drive shield, and the counterweight sheet metal. This one has been backed into something in the past.

I have my eye on one of those half cabs........guy wants too much for it, tho.

I've cut a LOT of acres with it's older cousin, a "175". After wearing out 2 VG4D Wisconsins I installed a "Chevy II" watercooled engine of of a neighbor's burned Owatonna machine. NO comparison in fuel use, noise and failures.

Those Wisconsins were simply AWFUL.

We have a red one to cut a little patch of hay with also. Ours is a 275 which is a little newer with a double auger header. It pays for itself every year. Needed new water pump last year. This year had to buy a new fuel filter for it. It has an AMC 230 cu. in. 6 cyl gas.

Nice! That is a goodly sized cab.

When I was growing up, many dairy farmers had those/these small self propelled windrowers.

Hard pressed to find any of any brand now. At auctions, they always go for scrap - even nice ones. Much like old combines.

Thanks for the pic! Love seeing the red ones!
