4400 JD chopper

Will the chopper from a JD 4425 combine fit on a 4400? I asked about a 4420 before, but I found a 4425 chopper that is cheaper and I am wondering if it will work. Thanks in advance, Harv

It is the same width but the brackets are just a little different. You might have to change the mounting flanges that are bolted on the tail housing on the JD 4400.

Are you sure? The 4425 is german made and a totally different design from the 4400. If I'm not mistaken the drive is on the opposite side on the 4425 versus the 4400. My uncle had a 4435 and it was about the same width as a 6620 and the 4435 was just a newer version of the 4425.

MN Scoot your correct!!! I read the post as a JD 4420 not JD 4425 chopper.

Your correct in that the JD 4425 has nothing much in common with the JD 4400 or JD 4420.
