For some reason, when I answer your question about what cutter bar...forum says it is archived and I can"t respond. Anyway, I was wondering if it"s a Herschel? I had one like yours on an F2 header, sold it last year. I"ll check my M315, but I think that one is more conventional, like a Hart-Carter.

Figured you would reply if anyone did.

Got a couple tiger jaw units on a F3 and an M3, but this L3 with the green strip header looks similar but different, the straight spring clips I've not seen before. You know bean combining, a person needs to be able to find sickle parts in season.....

And yes, my wife is beginning to wonder about me, I have more Gleaners than several dealers around here...... I need to downsize!

Tiger Jaws...that"s the term I was trying to remember! Those were on the 13 footer I sold to a guy from Hager City, WI. When did you get the L3? You passed up another M2 a while ago.

Bought last Tuesday, drove home Saturday, about 65 miles.

Crop sure is poor more than good on my back roads gravel travel, sit high up and going 15 mph had time to look around. Lot of hail damage west of me, lot of drownouts, lot of standing water here the end of August.

Thanks for your emails on the machines you came across of late. This one has a pretty good green stripe bean header. Also got a Bish adaptor plate to put a Red corn head on the Gleaner. I did not buy the old Red head tho! Figured the Bish was cheap, better to have and not need than come across a deal some day and wish I had.....

Can mix and match the M3 and L3 and bean heads to see what I like and keep for next year. As rough as this year looks I might be happy to have the 2 to run....

Still not sure on the hold down clips on top, they are different than anything I've seen. I'll have to search around the manufacturers and see.

BG428 is the number in the Shoup download. Page seven under AGCO 300 series heads. That number is for the 4 finger part but the hold downs are right below it, I think :)
