allis allcrop 40 at auction saturday. pto, bagger. i think the sheet metal is too far gone to make it work again. i'm tempted to try and save it from the junkman. any thoughts?

I was fortunate to find one a couple of years ago that had been shedded all it's life from the appearance of it.
Just depends how much time you want to put into it. There are a few parts machines still out there.
I tend to make or repair anything that needs it. First 3 pics are the one I refurbished that came from GarryinNC. Last 2 pics are a parts combine I picked up from TraditionalFarmer in VA.

There has to be things on it that are usable. Sickle bar and guards are unique to that machine, may be hard to find. All kinds of other parts. They only built 15,000 of them compared to about 600,000 60s and 72s. Save it if you can. My dad operated a new one(and a new B tractor) when he was 15. He is 91 now.

Garry, was wondering about your Dad the other day. Is he still gardening some? I really enjoyed meeting him. Tell him I said hello.
Here is a photo of him watching me tie down the combine.
