4400JD

I am looking for a straw chopper for my JD 4400. I haven't found one in Ontario yet but I was told one from a 4420 would work by a wrecking yard, and they have one of those. Will the chopper from a 4420 work on a 4400? I will be driving 7 hours each way to get it and I want to be sure. They want $800 for it. Thanks, Harv.

The chopper should work fine on your combine. Be sure you get all the drive parts along with it if you don't already have them. Also, if the parts combine has it, get the reinforcement kit that was offered for 4420's and retrofitted back to the 4400. That is the channel braces on the rear of the hood. Mike
