IH 1440 shifter

I have a IH 1440 combine that after sitting this winter was stuck in gear. I started some diagnosis and the cable is stuck. I have it off and it is really stuck. Any ideas, or do I need a new one. With the cable off, I can shift it by hand.

Just replace the cable. Once they rust stuck your wasting your time trying to get them to stay free.

It's almost as cheap to buy another combine. That cable is $243.00 I guess that is what I will end up doing.

Call around to some combine salvage yards, should be able to get it for half or less.

Not sure how far down in Ky. you are, but the fellows at Bryant Indiana are real good to work with.

Might make a road trip.

Had similar with 3020 3 ph cable- capped a 3/4 inch pipe, put the cable in and filled pipe with PB Blaster, let soak a few days. Spin/push/pull cable with elec drill.
