I just bought another Deere 105 combine. Not that I needed it but it was priced right and only 20 miles from home. It has been setting in the shed all its life and was last ran about four years ago. It has a 444 cornhead, quik tach feederhouse and the full hillside kit(special grain conveyor chain and dividers). The back end is busted up some and it is a gas(does have a zenith carb).I now have seven combines.LOL I just told my son this week no more projects untill we are caught up and along comes this.Wife is not thrilled either but I promised to part it out as soon as we get it home and not just park it behind the barn. There are going to be alot of homeless raccoons when we move it. They sure do make a mess of a piece of equipment. Tom

I will need to wash it first as it looks real bad setting in the shed now.I am almost ashamed to even bring it home the way it looks but a few hours with a hi pressure washer and we will find what is underneath. Tom

Tom, what kind of chain? The Deere one with the fingers riveted to the slats? Or the aftermarket one that was like a fertilizer spreader apron chain?

I made one of those about 10-12 years ago when I bought a new raddle chain from Deere without the fingers. I cut a lot of small channel iron pieces the width of the the slat, and then welded them on with the mig welder. It actually turned out pretty well... It had more "action" than the Deere one!
