settings for a K gleaner for oats

I cant find my manuals for my K and need to know the initial settings to start with in oats. Can any of you help me with this? Long story on manuals being misplaced. I havent used it before so I dont know where to start. I have used my 80 IH in the past. Thanks for any help, Lee

Never mind I found one of my manuals. As sure as I put something up for safekeeping I loose it. Anyway I could still use advice from you guys that have used them. Thanks, Lee

Start with the manual settings, check output and adjust. Kick the machine out of gear, don"t let it clear...open the side panels to check straw on the walkers to check that all kernels are threshed. Get down on the ground behind the separator, pull the straw aside, blow on the ground to blow the chaff away, and do kernel counts to see how much loss is behind the machine. Check behind the header for header loss, under the machine for loss there as well...from openings on the machine, header/thresher housing gap, etc. Devour the op manual for tips.

Thanks JMS/.MN. That gives me some idea how to start. I am going to need all the help I can get. The oats were just getting dry enough to keep and we have been hit with 3 days of thunderstorms and more comming. Looks like it will be the middle of next week before I can get in them and some are already on the ground.
