The cylinder was out of time so I adjusted it dead on with the book, however when I was tightening the drive belt I have moved it two inches from where it was and still do not have it to the gauge, what do you think I am doing wrong?

How bad is the drive belt worn??? Also are you talking about the variable cylinder drive on the right or the traction variable drive on the left????

It is the belt on the right and it does not look that bad, I was wondering if the tension spring is shot

I would check the internal cogs on the adjuster sprockets to see if they are jumping out of the adjuster screw. As these parts wear this can happen causing the upper and lower pulleys to get out of time again. Mike

I was just thinking, I bought this belt after market a couple of years ago, I wonder if it has stretched that much already?

Thank you guys for your input. I got it fixed today, All it needed was new belts and I got a new tension spring for good luck.
