Scour-Clean (Kleen)? Info-- reply to archived thread

The original subject was "Re: Scour clean".

Bingo. First log-on to the YT forum for ages, having just taken possession of a beautiful AC SP100. With Scour-Kleen. The P-O took the Scour-Kleen out of the discharge circuit since he said he was stopping every turn to dump the trash bag.

But I'm harvesting (organic, landrace wheat) so late that my fields are full of star thistle and wild mustard, so I'd sure like to get as much out as I can in the field.

I have the original manuals for the SP100, but will look for a Scour-Kleen specific example (or facsimile) if they're available.

So should I be looking on the AC forum, the Combine forum, or where for more AC-related info? My next question is how to figure the year of my machine from the S/N: SP5741??

Thanks for any and all help!

Listing in my book is incomplete, but it looks like 1957. Does it have the inclined steering wheel, WD45 (226) engine, folding auger, etc.?

Thanks for the quick reply, Bob. Let's see... the wheel is horizontal, but it has a WD45 engine and folding auger. You can see a video of it on Instagram: @Capay_Mills. Only known issues at the moment are a leaky rear engine seal, a worn separator chain sprocket, and brakes that need bleeding. Otherwise, it's pretty tidy. Was a barn find out of Alberta, CA bought several years ago by a friend in Northern California.

My book lists the Super 100 as serial #5601 and up. And it also says the Super 100 had an inclined steering wheel. So, once again, either the info. is wrong, or AC made incremental changes. Either is possible.

Thanks, Mark. I was told that the owner in Alberta did some rehab on it, but the sheet metal, paint, most everything else looks pristine. Nicest part is it's been used recently so all's functioning well I'm told. Eager to put it to work this week!

First (new) object of desire: a pick-up header for the SP100. Any ideas where to start looking?

Thanks,
David

Yes, I see in the parts and owner's manuals that the steering had an angled drive box at the top of the steering shaft. Mine definitely doesn't. I read somewhere a description of what differentiates the Super from the plain Jane SP100, but can't find it now. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
David
