Case IH 2188 setup for wheat

We started getting our 2188 ready for this year's wheat harvest and it occurred to me that I may need to change out the concaves to a small wire setup. We got this combine later last year out of the rice and soybean country in southern Arkansas. Used it on soybeans only last year. It has a specialty rotor with finger rasp bars. We are installing a set of disruptors to help break up the material going through. However a recent shoup add reminded me that I may need small wire concaves. Not cheap for 2 or 3 of them. Our old 1460 used 2 45 degree small wire concaves in the first two spots. Looks like I need to do the same for 2188. Any recommendations for wheat set up that i should be aware of? Any one have a good set of small wire concaves they are not using. We run a 25 foot head and run anywhere from 80 to 100 bushels per acre.

We ran large wire concaves for all crops including hard threshing spring wheat, just added 3 harvest services brand cover plates to the first 3 sections of the concaves.. They do a good threshing job and are far cheaper and easier to add / remove than changing concaves.

Thanks, I was wondering if the cover plates would work. We use them on our 1460 for a small seed crop that we run.

We always run 3 small wire concaves and 3 slotted grates with the bars on the outside in in the center of the slot making the slots smaller to keep small broken up straw out of the cleaning system
