M-2 bearing

Went to get the combine (M-2 #17052) ready for wheat and lost the bearing (agco# 71154722) on the right hand pivot shaft. Does the return elevator need to come out to get the shieve off? I assume the shieve is not threaded on to the shaft. thanks in advance.

Oddly enough, the same thing happened to me last night. Just solved an overheating problem and was running great - until that bearing went out. I'm wondering the same thing - does the tailings auger have to come off?

Just the elevator, not the auger, needs to be freed up so it can be raised up so the pulleys can be slide off. We supported it top and bottom with ratchet straps, split the chain, then pulled bottom bolts then the upper support bolts. The slip ring assembly is bolted to the end of the shaft 3/4" if I remember right. The bin unloader pulley is LEFT hand thread, we used an air hammer. The magnet is held with 4 bolts (1/2 x3/4), watch the plate behind it, as it has bloody sharp edges (don't ask how i know blood is a good lubricant). The clutch plate is also held on with 4 bolts, yes slippery when lubricated. The pulley assembly is supported with 2 bearings, the first one is captive in the pulley, we used 2 good sized pry bars to slide it off. Every thing else slide off with a little persuasion. The last one needed the gas axe to cut it off. We did not need a puller, maybe we got lucky. Have fun and keep the lubrication on the inside.
