Anybody on here have wheat planted between Westfall and Lincoln KS. Dad grew up here grandfather farmed here till late 70'S.Would love to no if wheat is ready to drive out to old farmstead.Thanks Mark
 
Mom said they have been cutting two days at Inman. My farm is far NE so I will go this week but not just yet.
 
I would say we are a week away. Of course the weather will factory in with this. We have chances of rain early this week. I live east of Westfall. I don't have any wheat this year. I'm not having luck funding any custom work. The majority of the farmers are doing brome, hay, and planting crops right now. Not much sleeping going on right now.

Some cut south of Ellsworth and I was in Salina this a.m. and the is quite a bit cut west of Salina along K-140, and then some just east of Brookville. Suspect we will get going here (southern Ellsworth County) in a couple of days.
 
Got any pics to post of an 850 cutting wheat? I spotted one on a farm place today, I couldn't tell if they still use it, I stopped to ask but no one was home. Always made me smile to see a 7 or 850 doing corn or beans with the ever present trail of black smoke.
 
Cutting around Salina and about 15 miles NW of Salina yesterday, so I would say the end of the week would be pretty close. Especially with these 100+ degree days we are supposed to get the rest of the week. Bob
 
I got the combine out today and worked on it a while. I am going to finish up tomorrow morning. I don't think I will try cutting tomorrow - probably Friday. Anyone heard about vomitoxin scores?

I do not have any in the field yet. I did stop a take a few pictures of one of my neighbors Massey Ferguson 850 ready and patiently waiting on the Wheat. I believe this machine is 1983 or 1984 year.

I always thought they were a good looking machine. I ran an 850 doing soybeans for a guy that did custom work 30 years ago when I was just out of high school.
