Corn picker

Anybody have experience with an Allis Chalmers 33 mounted corn picker? I have plenty of mounted picker experience just not with this particular picker

I currently pick with a Case pull type. I found the AC in great shape and have a spare WD to mount it on. I'm also an Allis man so it fits in good at my place. I know they sit low but I won't be picking on the mud. Do they have better capacity than the case?

Neighbor had one when I was a kid. I remember a lot more shucks in the corn, and it didn't turn the stalks down.....you had to look close to see which side of the field he'd picked.

He ground the corn for feed and didn't worry about the shucks.

They have a reputation for not wanting to take in green corn stalks and clog easy. That's where they got their reputation for taking farms hand off.

Ky. They were not the cleanest picker made. The model 17 Dad had was a lot better. Neighbor had a 33 back in the 1960's and picked many cribs of corn with it. Having worked around Case 1 rows, dad had 1, it should easily out pick the case.
