Yesterday I attended the McClendon estate auction at the SW edge of abundant,MO...Mr McClendon was a loyal Massey Ferguson man and had 10-11 MF tractors which is something you don't see in my area....Mrs McClendon kept 5-6 tractors and all the haying machinery to continue her large cattle operation....The grain farming machinery hadn't been used in 4-5 years..The temperature was in the low 60's and there was a nice crowd..

Heres the results.

1-2005 Massey Ferguson 8780 XP combine----$40,000---2712 engine---1621 separator hours-very nice..

2-Massey 8000 30 ft flex head----$7,000--nice----the cart sold for $1800..

3-Massey 883 8 row corn head----$3600---the cart sold for $2,000---The Tempte grain trailer behind the corn head sold for $11,700...

4-1980 Massey Ferguson 4840 tractor--$4250....4700 hours---last used 5 years ago and not running--
(8) like new 20.8x38 tires...The junker got it...

5-2002 Massey Ferguson 8270 tractor----$35,750----3715 hours---just 50 hours ago $46,000 was spent on an engine rebuild with new crank-tranny rebuild-etc....Seems like alot of money....They had all the receipts...

6-1995 Massey Ferguson 8150 tractor--$14,700----4171 hours

7-Massey 1155 V-8 tractor---$1,000-engine stuck

8-Massey 180 tractor--$3,400----ran nice

9-Komatsu 65EX dozer----$30,000--nice machine

10-Challenger detachable loby----$16,000

11-1992 Freightliner---$7,150-----865,387 miles--350 Cummins-9 speed-new tires

12-2002 Kinze 3650 planter 12-23 no till----$41,000---very nice

13-Great Plains 30 ft drill---$4,900---no till coulters

14-Great Plains Turbo Max 2400 vertical tillage----$35,000
Behind it the nice Sunflower 1433-32 32 ft disk sold for $14,500-The Sunflower
rolling basket behind the disk sold for $5,000..The 30 ft DMI Tiger Mate to the
very right sold for $13,100-its barely pictured..

15-The farthest left 445 IH baler sold for $2500-the closet 440 IH baler sold for around $500?Behind the balers is one of the MF tractors that she kept..

16-New Holland Stack Cruiser sold for $1,300---hadnt been used in years

17-Cat D-8H with engine apart sold for $1800 for scrap...The blade sold separate for $1200..

18-Not pictured but a 1947 Studebaker car sold for $1,700...

There was much more than this..The auctioneers moved and had the sale over in 5 hours..

All was cheap. Particularly the Massey 8150 and 8270 Massey tractors. A lot of solid iron for the price.
 

Thanks for the pictures and results, I assume that 8270 had 13,000 hours, I don't think the hour metere keeps track of the 10,000 hour mark. Dad has the same tractor in a agco white version, but it has the cummins 8.3 and it is at 13,000 hours and engine and trans have not been opened up. The repair bills on machinery these days will make your heart skip a beat.
 
Sell the 8 tires and the rest of the tractor is free..Thats what lots were saying at the sale..
 

Dang, that was a cheap price for that tractor, but those transmissions usually don't give it up in that low of hours.
