One Owner 151 IH Combine

I was never very impressed with a 151 combine; certainly wouldn't pay much money for one, even for the shape that it's in.

What's wrong with them? I think they were a great combine and would for sure take one over almost any other combine of that era.

In our area, we mostly had heavy straw windrows to put through a combine; the 151 just didn't do a good job with that. They might be alright straight cutting just the heads, but they weren't great for gobbling up heavy windrows.

Geez, Dick, you you "run " with this guy?

There was a lot of swathing around here at the time too. I have a IH pickup for my 151. With 70 hp I think they were good windrow eaters for a combine that size. The guy I got it from ran both IH and Massey side by side during those years and preferred the IH for picking up swaths.

Dad & grampa had a 151 years ago with a pickup on it & I never heard anything thing bad about its performance. It was used along side a 127 first & then with a 806 & 402.

I would have thought it was high until I saw a couple other old IH combines sell recently. The biggest problem with that one is Grinnell is a long ways out there and you better know you want it before you take the trip.

Looks like it sat a long time with a flat tire.
