Some Nice Old Combine Pictures G-4 MM 105 JD

Love to see that history. I can duplicate the pics of the 95 with the pickup as that is how mine was set up when I first had it.

I'm most envious of the 8640 knee deep in rubber. My 8430 is running on slicks but it isn't worth $5000 in rubber.

Nice pictures!! What was the model of the Deere swather/windrower? I didn't know Deere made one with a single rear wheel.

JD made a lot of swathers with the single wheel. The SPW, 200, 200A, 215, 215A, and 780 all had single wheel on the back. The first one is a 780 and the 2nd one is either a SPW, 200, or 200A.

I love the old pictures. Thank you for posting. The equipment is from the time era of my youth. Here the small grains were direct cut instead of draper.

JD sold quite a few of those windrowers on their company reputation - but most of them ended up in the scrap pile as they were troublesome and not nearly as good as the other makes on the market at the time. My brother still has his old Case from back in the day, but the Air cooled WI engine has been changed to a liquid cooled Case engine.

Lots of G4 combines with the short pickup header sold in our area. They were a smooth running belt drive combine. We had a G-3 with a well tuned Z engine that was chain drive that could outwork the G4 but was a lot noisier from all the chains, but then the G3 didn't have the belt slippage loss of the G4.
