K2 bad news.

So the engine is trash in that little gleaner K2 I picked up...Anyone know of a complete Allis 433t in decent shape for sale? Looked online but I wasn't too impressed with the prices.

F2,F3 used a similar engine, but I'm sure they are pricey too. An alternative would be to put in a 250 Chev 6 cylinder gas, which they would have been built with; or a 292 from an F series. Too bad, those sure were easy on fuel.

Wow! a 433TI from an F3 would really make that K2 a powerhouse. Those engines are hard to come by because after the combine they are on gets junked they usually find their way into a 6060 or 6080 tractor. If you do put a GM gas in it, make sure you take the whole unit off the back of the donor combine so you have all the right parts. Might also need to change a pulley on the machine where the main drive belt goes because the diesel ran a different rpm. I can't remember for sure and don't have the parts book right in front of me.

Just a thought while reading your thread, why not find a 301 AC diesel off of an F. those were good reliable engines that were easy on fuel. If you could make that work it would really make that K2 come to life....
