Does anyone know if these machines had a feeder house reverser on them. There are a number of them in this area and we pick up swathed canola around here. Doing canola without a reverser would be a nightmare.

No they do not. Unless your a strong guy with a crescent wrench lol. We had an 8900 and it would eat the crop really well though. I would go for a 9700 though it's next to impossible to plug the feeder house on them.

the 8900 did not nor did the 9700. now the 9720 had a reverser I know for sure, so my guess would be that the 8920 did as well like I said just a guess at this point. there was also a 9320 not too many built though.

OC 18guy. If u know of where there is a 9320 let me know because I'd love to have one! They never went into production so it would just be a test machine. But I would be awesome to have one.

There's no mention of a feeder reverser in an 8900 parts book I have, nor is it listed as an option in either the 8920 or 9320 brochures I have. The brochures are pretty sparse so it may have been available despite not being listed.

On our 7800 (early version of the 8900), plugging the feeder was an ongoing problem. The 20 series may have been better as they used a larger diameter header auger. There was an outfit at Yellow Grass, Sask. that sold a device that consisted of a notched band you fastened around the left side of the header auger, and a handle to fit to back off a plugged auger/feeder chain. It helped but was still a lot of work.

here you go!

no and no. lol sure wish I did though she is a beauty. I have no affiliation with the picture , that picture was taken at the launch of the 9320 in the southwestern united states I believe.

You can make a reverser with a flywheel ring gear (small) and an engine starter. You have to put the ring gear on the shaft that drives the header. If you put it above, your belts or chain idler would bent because they will transmit the torque. This was the way the European combines were made in the 90-2000.

I have seen some 860 MF with that setup.

No feeder reverser on 8920, owned one for 6-8 yrs, would have been nice, but corn and soybeans all I ever combined.. Don't use rice tires unless you check final drive axle bearings ever couple hundred hours., btdt.
