6600 brakes

Finally got back to fixing brakes on combine thought I'd post what had to do in case some one else going through same problem. Got wheel cylinder kits from Napa ray bestow 3 dollars apiece. Master cylinder from tr 97 combine they're the same 20 $. Bench bled used master cylinder. Put it on and bled lines. Couldn't get good pedal on right. Put hose from wheel cylinder bleeder to master cylinder reservoir primed hose whith oil squirt bottle full of brake pedal bled right side again got pedal then. Pedals uneven though so adjusted pedal linkage to even out. All good then then got emergency brake cables from Jd chopper. I know most everybody just uses hydro to stop but we wanted brakes to work because in Hy traffic area

I drove my 1660 a combined 80 miles on public highways without even a hint of brakes, hydro only. The first 60 miles was the first time I had ever driven a combine and the first few miles of that were in town. It was a good way to learn. The last 20 miles I added a 6 row corn head. I could do it again if I had to, but would really rather just stay on the farm with it.

I farm hills and if I have to unload headed up or downhill I have to keep a foot on the brake to keep it from rolling away from the wagon. Plus I feel it's a little easier on the hydro if I use both when coming downhill to a corner. I understand the need for brakes.

Wanted brakes in case had to downshift on hill or panic stop had Ben driving on road with out brakes or emergency brake and didn't like it in the field don't mind
