Case 1680 tach/rotor/fan dash display.

The hundreds column number on the digital display for engine, rotor and fan rpms has just about disappeared on my dash (the thing like a big old digital watch or microwave oven display). Sometimes lines flash up, but never the complete number. The ten and thousand numbers still display ok. I don?t care about the engine tach, but its kind of frustrating not being able to see rotor and fan speeds correctly. I haven?t pulled it out yet, or looked for a used part, but the reman digital display from Messicks lists at over $1400. Anyone come across this problem and found any fixes? Any after market RPM gauges work?
Thanks,
Chris

One of the digits in mine is slow to come to life, so I have wondered about what the answer is. There are a couple of places, I think, in the Midwest that repair such things. My CaseIH dealer sent the dash out of a 5230 tractor to one for me. I could have gone direct, but I'm glad I didn't, as it had to be sent back!

Check with Farmtronics in Regina, they might be able to help you although they're not cheap. They're on Henderson near Fountain Tire.

I had this company rebuild the instrument panel on my Ford/NH 8830 tractor. It was a mess when I sent it to their repair shop but it worked perfectly when I got it back. As I recall the cost was about $400 and that included shipping. That was a 2 years ago and may be more now.
