I was just on search tempest and in Fargo North Dakota there is a gas engine out of a combine. It is a 362 and it has the filter base and oil cooler you are looking for. He is asking $275 for the complete engine. It must have been in a 7700 gas as I have never seen the oil cooler on a gas before as I have never seen a 7700 gas either. maybe this will help you. Tom

I know this isn't the reply you are looking for but you've never seen a gas 7700??? They must have all been here because I would say 1/3 of 7700s were gas around here before JD dropped that option. My uncle had one, my neighbor had one, and have another neighbor with one right now that he bought for $750 at an auction. And I know there were more out there. Gas engine in a 00 series was a horrible combination.

The 7700 initially used the 404 diesel and 362 gas. Same engine used in the 4020 but somehow JD was able to push the 362 to 128 hp in the combine. Then when the 30 series came out, the 4230 used the 404/362. Then JD dropped the 362 a year later just like in the combines.

Good find. I found the listing and those parts look exactly like what I need. I also never heard of a gas 7700s before.

I've always wondered if they ever actually got the HP as high as they said? It would be interesting to see if the engine used in the 105 combine 362 used any different parts than the 7700 362.

I've had the same thoughts as well. However, my uncle who had a 7700 gasser never complained about the lack of hp. His even had a hydro which takes more hp then the posi torque. His previous combine was a SB 95 gas.
