95 in photo ads

Did anyone check out the Deere 95 rice combine on tracks in the photo ads? It looks like it has factory AC as well. I want it but the wife said NO as I have to many unfinshed projects including rebuilding one of my 95's that was supposed to be done for this fall and was not.I tried to say what if we have a wet fall some year but even that fell on deaf ears:( Tom

Pretty neat looking outfit. Only seen one other 5 series with tracks before. You'd defiantly have something different with that machine. I talked to a gentleman the other day who hada 6600 with tracks. He would go around and cut beans in bottoms that were too wet for a wheeled machine to go for the neighbors.

Good find. For some reason it reminds me of a half-track from wwII. Say tom, did you say you swapped out the gas motor in one of your combines for a 404? If so I would love more details of what you did. I am right in the middle of an implant but having trouble getting pulleys and belts to line up correctly on the uload side.

We put a 404 out of an early 7700 in our 105. The only issue we had was that we had to turn the flywheel down to use the diesel ring gear as it is smaller than the gas to turn it over faster. We had to make out own injection pump linkage but every thing else was just unbolt and rebolt. Tom

Tom, about a year ago on here there was someone trying to determine the worth of a set of 105 tracks. They'd been in the shed for years. The wife maybe wouldn't notice if you brought those home...

I also noticed the gas flywheel is slightly larger and jamming into the stater. My bigger problem is on the other end. At first I was trying to use a 404 from a 4620 that I have. Problem is that the timing cover is a bit thicker and won't allow the pulley to get close enough to the block for all the belts (esp. the unload auger belt) to align. The pulley acutally hits the timing cover. So I thought I would use a 4020 motor, but it doesnt have a spin on filter on the right side. Can't seem to locate the parts to change it over from the cartridge style inside the oil pan. Plus the end of the crank on the flywheel side is shaped different and has a pilot bearing in it instead of a recessed area. Do you have any good pics of your 7700 motor?

Can your oil filter and pan from the gas engine be changed to the diesel? I do not have time right now to check parts interchange but would guess that it should. Tom

The oil filter base on the gas [i:e290c1586e]could [/i:e290c1586e] be put on the 4020 motor, except the 4020 has the oil cooler tower on it also. I'm afraid to run it without. The origianl 105 404's had a filter base with a integrated oil cooler (same cooler as used on the 4010) but I haven't been able to find that filter base.

Here's what the gas has currently. If you look, there are no provisions for a cooler to tie into it.
