Gleaner F2 harvesting RPMS?

As I recall, my F2 diesel was 2300. I wrote it right in the middle of the tach. so I wouldn't forget. Also, as I recall, they were apt to run the gas engines a different speed. That was annoying because engine pulleys were different between the two so there was no interchanging. I would have thought for the sake of 100 RPM's one way or the other money could have been saved by not producing so many parts.
 
Absolutely, combines are designed to only operate at full throttle while combining. Governor can be set for the right rpm, but you use full throttle all the time while in the crop.
