Hi Guys, Just bought a 6620 and a 915 head, There are the two hyd hoses under the cab that are hooked together for running the corn head, my question is after unhooking them do I run one to the left side of the head and the other one to the right side for the reel? There is also a small diameter hyd hose also hooked to a hyd coupler under the cab, where does this go to. This head has hyd reel speed, lift, and fore and aft. Thank You!! Chris in Michigan

I have a JD 6620 and 4420. The two larger hoses that are hooked together under the cab run the hydraulic motor on the reel. When you are running the corn head they are to be coupled together to let the oil just flow through the pump. Otherwise the pump might be damaged according to the book. When you put the grain platform on you attach the reel motor hoses to these. The hydraulic couplers up under the cab are to operate the variable speed feeder house when you have the corn head attached. There are two hoses coming off of the variable speed mechanism. When you run the grain platform you adjust the variable speed feeder house to "slow". I believe the platform needs to run as slow as possible as fast speeds are had on the wobble box. Then you uncouple the variable speed feeder house hydraulic hoses and tie them down to the feeder house. Then the hoses from the reel up and down hydraulic cylinders are attached. I would assume you would have to have another valve or some kind of splitter to move the reel forward or backward.
