CIH 1660 - Td sensor connection

Looking at my prior post. Can anyone get me a photo or a really clear description of where the plumbing T that connects to the oil light and hydraulic control sensor actually thread into the engine? I am going out to look for it and have a better idea of what I am looking for but want to make sure I have the correct place. I can go up to the dealer and look at one on his lot, but it is an hour drive each way.

I just finished responding to you below,in your last post-LOL.But,there should be a small 1/8 pipe plug in the right rear corner of the block-it would take a 7/16 wrench to remove it.I don't think you can miss it if you look at it for a minute. With the engine off, pull the plug, and there should be a little oil run out(Maybe a spoonful). That will be where the tee goes.Good luck,Mark

FWIW-before you bought the IH, weren"t you looking at a Gleaner M2? That has the same type control on it to shut it down. But yeah, it helps when it"s connected! Hope you can find it on the IH. Nice for peace of mind.

Yes...I looked at a lot of Gleaners. Could not find one I liked and then this monster came along. Having fun with it when it isn't killing my bank account. :)

Read your post below. A couple of things confusing me. First...to get oriented right...the ""left" side of the engine is when you are standing behind it (opposite end from the radiator), right? That being said, all the wiring and sensors are on the LEFT side of the engine. The harness does not have enough slack to put the two disconnected sensors on the right side. It just would not reach in my opinion. I failed completely at finding where this "T" goes into the block today. Hoping someone can shoot a picture of their IH engine and show me how it works. Otherwise it is up to the dealership to find one on their lot.

Mark, just got back from CIH and looked at a 1460 with the same engine. The only port I was able to locate on mine is the place where it goes. It was exactly where you said it should be. The harness gets looped over the back of the engine. Of course, someone has installed a jumper from that part of the harness back into the main for reasons I am not entirely sure of making it appear that it should remain on the left side. So I have to disconnect this jumper to reconnect my sender/sensors. Have to wonder at this point why the PO did all this. Thinking maybe I should ask him over for a visit. Thanks to you and Bob and all the rest!
