Need Help Finding A IH 403 combine

Hello, I am looking for my grandpa's IH 403 combine. This combine was ALWAYS shedded and we(as grandchildren) got to wax the machine(my grandpa was very picky, as he really loved this combine). He then gave it to my uncle who had wanted to get into farming up by Baudette,MN, who then sold it (under $1000) to a neighbor for parts who then reportedly needed just the cylinder bearing, and parked it in a tree row. My family (with the exception of my uncle) never wanted this combine to go, and now want to bring this combine home for him before he passes away. He lives in the Casselton ND area. Any help will be appreciated. I may or mayn't be able to get pictures, and info.Thanks.

I have been told it has or had a straw chopper when it went north, along with a solid white cab, and a white hopper topper from a 715 combine. it also has the rounded platform.

I wish you luck but most old combines have been scraped in the last 5-7 years when scrap metal prices went sky high. Would the Uncle not know who he sold it to????

Good luck, but JD is right, a lot of stuff got scrapped when the price was high. That is not to say you should give up before you begin, but it will require a LOT of leg work to track down what happened to it. The best place to start is with your Uncle, ask him who he sold the combine to!

Another suggestion, provide more details, the more details that are given (name of your Grandpa and Uncle?, when was the combine was sold to neighbor?) the better able others will be able to help.

The combine was given to my uncle in or around 2003-2005 and sold a little after a year of my uncle owning it...we are attempting to find the serial number along with a
picture, since some custom made attachments were put on when my grandpa owned it.

Start driving the back roads in the general area where you think it might be at...Stop and ask some of the farmers if they know of a 403 IH in a fence row...Run want ads in trader papers....Good luck...Theres people in my area that seem to know where everything is at for 30-40 miles....One trims trees...

I have remembered a general description that may be of some help, because i live 11 hours away. Last time i remember seeing it it was around 2005, and when you drove into the guy's yard it was sitting right there in plain sight, right as your drove in, parked in solid evergreen like trees, which were all around the yard, and i don't recall any other type of trees there, along with a small pale house.
