JD 4400 straw walker crankshaft question

I have to replace the two foam isolators (H76431)on the straw walker crankshaft on my 1978 4400 combine. It looks like I'll have to remove everything on both sides including the bearings. Is this correct? When I install the isolators are they to be flat against the straw walker sheet metal or should they be tucked inside the round hole? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about yours but we replaced the rear on the walkers on our 9500. Huge mistake. Make sure you do both front and rear them "time" the walkers. We ended up with two broke walkers they are expensive and a huge pain to replace
