2188 soybean settings with spec rotor

We have a new to us, 1997 2188 combine. It is equipped with a specialty rotor and all the bars have spikes. Where would I start with the concave settings for soybeans? I assume it is more open than a standard rotor. Appreciate the help!

This early leave it close and try it. IF your splitting too many beans then open it up but the stems/weeds will be tough so keep it tight to work them through.

You'll be surprised, that combine will do a great job at almost any clearance. I set mine wider than normal in beans that were 13-14% and it worked great. What rotor speed you at.

Haven't quite got all that figured out yet. It rained and we are on hold. My son and the field man set the concaves for a regular rotor and discovered it was thumping really hard on the inside. They also discovered the first concave was beat up pretty bad. So we now have a replacement concave and an understanding we have a specialty rotor with spikes on the bars. Hopefully we will get going tomorrow. I had read somewhere else the I could go with a lower rotot speed.
