L2 PFP enclosed cylinder

Upgraded from a F to L2. Who has run the enclosed cylinder and how did they like it? Will be running corn, dry beans and small grains. It has a spike cylinder in it but want a cylinder to do all 3 crops.

Not sure what you mean by enclosed cylinder.F series had closed concaves vs open concaves in L/M series--you can see the concave on an L or M cosists of a grate where only the grain can fall through onto the thresher raddle and the straw is moved further back onto the separator raddle. Closed concave has everything going under the cylinder onto the raddle. Thus, per inch of width, an open concave will give a greater capacity. On my M3 I just use rasp type cylinder bars for corn, soys and small grains, and adjust speed/clearance according to the crop. A spike tooth cylinder will be more gentle on fragile crops such as edible beans.

Precision Farm Parts makes an enclosed cylinder for M and L series. It is supposed to double the capacity in tough beans?? Just wondering if anyone has one and is it worth the investment?

Never heard of such a thing. But it sounds interesting- because- any cylinder which can get build up behind the bars and get out of balance is annoying. And- maybe this wouldn't require filler bars for corn either?

I agree 100%.
When they get out of balance I spend the 15 minutes to clean it out or it will drive me nuts.
