case ih combine information/specs

I currently have a 1460 that has been updated with many 1680 parts. Good machine but it does not have the bells and whistles that something 15 years newer would have. I have been looking at various 2188 and 2388 models but I have come across a few stumbling blocks. Will a 1020 head off my combine fit a 2188 or a 2388? I also have some very nice 45 degree concaves for my 1460 that I would like to continue to use for small grains. Will these fit a 2188 or 2388? Anything I should be concerned about in looking at a used combine? Are certain crops or the number of acres an issue? I thought I heard corn can be rough on a combine, but my experience, it is usually the operator. Is there a limit on engine or rotor hours? One unit I watched had a field tracker installed but the monitor was cracked and it was not working. Just looking for any insights since the next one will be a lot more pricier than my 1460 originally was. Thanks in advance.

The 1020 off a 1460 will fit a 2188 or 2388.

Pretty much nothing inside the 1460 will exchange with a 2188 or 2388.....they are a larger rotor...closer to a 1480

A 1460's lineage would be 1660, 1666, 2166, and 2366

Yes, Mark is right. The 1020 head will fit. You have to adjust a couple of plates, for the wider feeder house on the 80/88, but that's about all. Internally the 60/66 and 80/88 are different, so the concave certainly won't fit. I think the 60/66 has a 24 inch dia rotor and the 80/88 has a 28 inch or something like that.
