Got the clean grain sieve out, by raising the chaffer extension. Only one of three hangers were left. Last sieve adjuster broke. Appears sieve had dropped down, from each front height adjuster and wasn't even cleaning and explains problem of heads in clean grain. Also discovered scour kleen screen only had wood frame left and previous repair was a board across bottom. All sieve slates good and even canvass air deflector good, wood frame good.
Fabricated 2 hangers- Drilled and used bolts and peened over heads (Old ones were rivets). Redrilled and bigger bolt on adjuster. Drilled hole in back sieve and made it permanent 7/16" spacing. Took 2 men to pull out and put back in with
one in straw blower area. Getting into front adjuster slots, was thru a 3" inspection holes each side. Took out scour clean frame. Put rod thru good 3rd hole height adjuster and will compensate by sieve opens and air adjustment.
My previous repair was on straw walker grease tubes to wood bearing (rug inside on walker and me inside on rug). At 78 I let other guy inside this time.
Hopefully this machine should outlast me, especially since it inside a good building, however mice still get in the machine. It might not have to do Oats in September as winds have "Lodged" straw flat and binder is only ground driven header reel.
