What is it?

A friend of mine ask me about a central load suppressor on a 1680 IHC combine. What is it and what does it do?I never heard of one?

I've got a 1680 and I've never heard of it either. Does he mean the accumulator on the header lift hydraulics? That's the only thing I can think of.

I think it is also called a flux capacitor....you know, like the one on your Hoyt-Clagwell....

i on my second 1680 do not know what he is saying either, i lost the first one to a fire and saved all usable parts and if i have it i don't know it.

Usually, when I hear that term, I assume the electrical system. Most cars and trucks use them to dampen/even out the variations in charging and loads placed on an electrical system. Most IC's, such as your monitoring systems prefer/require stable, noise-free power to operate and deliver accurate readings.

The term could be used on a hydraulic system as well- could refer to a charged tank/bladder that is in the system to provide a reservoir of liquid for when valve actuation occurs, which smooths out movements, and keeps a certain system pressure to combat pump cavitation when pressures drop due to valve actuation.

In both cases, they are there to even things out!
