Combine for Cleaning Oats

Might be a dumb question, but does anyone use a combine for cleaning oats for seed, as in re-running what you've combined back through in place of using a fanning mill, etc.? Just wondering if that would be possible on an IH 82 pull-type.

If you got good heavy oats and wild oat free, i would use it for seed, If the small stuff like pigeon grass and mustard seed, can you blow that out, would be the big problem!!

People do that with the old Allis Combines for sure. They just put the grain in behind the cylinder straight onto the raddle chain and let it pass over the chaffer/sieve again at a slower speed than it passed the first time. I'm clueless on the IH as to how it is set up.

Last spring I used my 403, set the bottom sieve a bit tighter than I would in the field actually combining oats, then turn the wind up until you are blowing good oats over the chaffer, and back off just slightly. The 403 did a good job and I will do it again.
