oliver 7300

Going to look at an oliver 7300 combine this week. It belongs to a good friend. It was park some years back but was well maintained till then. I think I can get it for a few hundred dollars. It has a 4 row wide head and a 13 or 14 foot grain head. This may be my first combine. So what can you tell me about it? We're they a good machine and how hard are the parts to find for it? Any and all opinions appreciated. Thanks.

The big thing is, is it parked inside,if it is not, i dont think i would be interested, and beside coons love to live in those old combines! There urine and fecal matter eats right threw.

I had one for about 10 years. I'd say it was a good combine, but I am partial to Oliver equipment. I took good care of it, and went over it every winter, but had very few breakdowns. Belts and bearings are easy to get. The combine yards still have some of them if you need used parts as well. I bought a head from a guy that had 6-7 of them. He said with a 4 row head in the mud it wasn't too hard to break a final. I had a 3rn and never had any trouble. I sold mine for $1500. Had very nice original paint, always kept in, and included the corn head, a soybean head, and a grain head. A good machine, but not worth much.

Hope you can get it for low price few around here they want 3000 plus. Have three of them have done a good job for me. Parts are fair to get here and there. Good luck

I have two of them. One is set up for small grains and one is set up for corn. Good machines, but parts are becoming hard to find. I bought the last 8 rasp bars available from agco/parts depot last year. I needed a chain sprocket last fall was told only 3 remained from agco.

Like I said great machines but parts are getting harder to find!
