Need M2 damper/pulley

Anyone out there have a damper/pulley assembly in good condition at a reasonable price, or know anyone that rebuilds them, mine has slipped.

Thanks,

Walt

This guy just rebuilt mine for around $200 and did a nice job (looks like it anyway).

That link is great, so I am taking out the damper and having it redone.

I have the radiator out, all the belts off and the crack end bolt.

It appears the pulley does not separate from the damper. I see what looks to be about six holes that are filled with chaff, believe they are threaded.

How many holes should I use to safely remove?

I know that you can't pull from the outside as it would only separate at the rubber, but I do have a puller that they show in the link.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone that had one off before.

I'll look in the manual, but I am sure AC will call for a special tool to remove or replace.

It's a 100 degrees here, but combine is in an elevated pole building, so have shade and some air.

Thanks,

Mike

Ok, they say to use three of the holes to remove the end cap screw to put it back on.

Not sure my puller will be strong enough, but will give it a try.

Any advice appreciated.

You can make a "puller" by drilling three holes in a substantial piece of steel. I did once with an old sprocket. Put something(like a socket) between the plate and the end of the crank, and pull with the three capscrews. If I recall correctly, that shaft is tapered. So when the pulley lets go, it lets go!

Bob, I welded a couple of pieces of scrap metal together that already had holes in it, lengthened the threads on three bolts and it pulled right off. Thanks for the info. Can't say anything about the local tool rental, they had the same one I had, too small and then gave me a bigger one, charged me $10, didn't fit the pattern at all, brought it back in less than an hour and they wouldn't give me my money back. I will never stop there again.

See pic.
