Discover a broken rod, that appears to be height adjuster, for rear of clean grain sieve, on Belle City 28 X 48 Thresher. Looks like something was rubbing on it, on right side, causing it to move around and wear out bottom 2 holes and rod. I have welded rod (acetylene). I am ready to put it back in, however am not sure, of 3 things. 1 appears I can raise chaffer extension up, by removing left and right adjusting bolts ? 2. What caused wear spot on rod and 2 bottom hole on adjustment? 3 Can I use 3rd good hole for future demonstration runs of wheat barley, oats and just change sieve opens and air ?
