Parting out a K2... What's worth keeping?

It's time to tare down the old K2, (ser. no. 245xx). Shortback GM250 gasser with manual auger. Engine runs fine and already pulled it to keep as a backup to another K2 I own. I know these old machines are getting pretty hard to come by even in bone yards but my wife isn't in the mood to turn our own yard into a Gleaner junk yard. So what do I keep verses junking it for scrap?

Feeder beater; the beater behind the cylinder is prone to cracking at the fins; transmission and final drives; concave door and concave; belts; cab monitors and wiring harness; at least one walker;raddle chain;.....that is if these parts were in workonng condition--also the unloading auger if its not too banged up---they have a tendency to hit trees, shed doors etc....ask me how I know!

Electric clutch, variable speed parts, countershafts, pulleys, belts....relatively small parts but spendy ones. Won"t take much space to store. Elec clutch on F2 is over $800. Chaffer, sieve, access doors.

If you plan on keeping the other K2 for a long while I would strip the old one down to nothing. Save the entire feeder house and cylinder, lift cylinders, hydraulic pump and valve body and rods. Save the main shaft and pulleys and clutch and bell housing with shaft and pulleys and separator clutch. Riddle chain and sprockets all the elevator chains and sprockets and elevator bottoms and straw walkers (easy to put in rafters) and chopper and all the belts steering motor and cylinder and gauges. Well you get the idea. Strip it down and save all you can, If it moves save. You can save yourself a lot of money just by saving parts from that old machine. To many things to list to keep so just take your time and think about it and keep striping it down. Everything you save is like money in your pocket cause a junk yard gets 1/2 to 2/3 new price for there parts so there worth keeping. Bandit

If you looking to sell a few parts, and if they are interchangeable with a regular K. If the Clutch and unloading tube are good, I will be interested in those parts

Rear axle and kingpins if they are good. Kingpins (aka spindles) are NLA from AGCO. I broke my rear axle pivot tube last fall. Would have been much faster repair if I had a whole axle to change out instead of welding in a new tube.

The unloading tube is bent and kinda tough. I'll take a look at the clutch and see if it's any good. If so, we can work something out.
