Well, i think it's gonna work. I'm not gonna make harvest this year, but i'll be ready next. Here's my latest video.
Thanks everyone for your advice and encouragement!

Hmm, soybeans eh? I'm thinking i'm going to find out a lot more once i actually get this out in the field, i'm sure i'll have questions to post here.. Right now, i'm hung up on the drapers because i haven't figured out how to operate a borrowed, old sewing machine, after that, this should be a breeze :) The new drapers would run about $400. But i have all the stuff to make them, just need to sew the canvas. Still have the grain tank to do yet, but it's pretty straight forward, other than wrestling it back on to the frame.
Thanks

Looking good. It'll be fun when you actually get to try it out. Not many guys save old combines because of their size. I'm glad you had an interest in it.

Find someone that makes boat covers and they will be able to sew the draper material. I found an old fellow about 9 miles from here that does that and he said he has made and repaired lots of combine curtains over the years.

Thanks, I've asked around, and it would cost somewhere upwards of $200,,, so, yeah, the problem i'm at now is, because i got on a roll, bought this, bought that, 20 here 100 there,,, i almost went too far, and i gotta put the breaks on a bit, because i still need money for diesel, seed, and then winter. But i feel that i will have a working machine,,, next year? :) This sure is a good place to get help on projects like this!

Thanks, yeah, you know the story, the farm gets busted up into 10 acre parcels, then, a city guy like me, marries a woman with horses, then moves to the 10 acres, and tries to figure out what to do with it. In my case i decided a good husband for a horse woman would be a wanna be farmer. That didn't work so well, i was told when that 14T was sitting in my front yard, all about how much fence that would have bought. At $15/hr, this is about all a guy can afford with bare land at 4-5,000/acre. But the bigger guys, can't hardly turn their equipment around in my field, so, there could be a revival of a market for this stuff. My neighbor said i should make this a side business,, well, after 5 months, whew,, think i'm gonna hold that thought for a while :)
