Case Model K combine

I have a Case K combine my grandfather bought in 1941. Its restorable but I am having a hard time finding information on it. I did get a parts manual and its mechanically pretty good other than some rust in sheet metal here and there but I have not found any colored pictures showing paint. As a kid, I remember the Case logo with stripes on each side, I think they were green, also, the tube that held the counter balance spring and some other things were green but little paint remains and my memory has faded. The few models of this machine I have seen setting around were mostly galvanized so was that the earlier ones built in 38-40? Some of the angle iron frame has traces of black paint also but the Case Orange on top of it so I don't know if that was factory orange or if my grandfather repainted over the black sometime? I guess most of my needs are on the cosmetic restoration as I want it to be pretty nice. My grandfather bought a new truck in 38 along with a D, and then this combine in 41. I have all three of them yet so it would be really fun to put them together once again. Thanks for any ideas, tips or suggestions where an original might be in a museum someplace, I appreciate it. Aaron

There were some in our area, but they were all parked in the junk line when I saw them.

I have a case grain drill, maybe not quite as old, it looked like the colors were galvanized, dark green, and red. Someone painted the whole thing pink :( ... Looks like a good project you got there, enjoy. I'm doing a Dearborn Wood Bros. and it's quite a bit more work than i anticipated, just keep telling myself to take my time, go slow, and think. :)
