1440 what should I do?

Have a 1978 1440 combine with 4400 hours that I am going to sell at a local consignment auction in August. Combine is in field ready condition, I have new floor mat and foot pedal boots on hand that I will put in. The problem is that the cab liner is shot, and has to come out. Does it pay to put a liner in this old a combine, or should I take the old one out and sell it that way? Thanks.

As many hours as some put in a combine it might just seal the deal for someone. I have put a cab kit in my JD 9500 in the last 20 years. It made me feel a little less like Pig Pen from the comics. It's a few hundred bucks that could cause a bidding war giving you thousands more

I would caution you about the pedal pads. It may need them, but I am skeptical of the hours when I see someone may have tried to hide the amount of use those pedals got. If you have them put them in your pocket. When it sells introduce yourself to the new owner and hand him the pads.

There is nothing special about that headliner, it is just 1 inch cab foam. You can buy the foam in bulk and make you own. I made all of the panels for my 1460, an easy job.
