Does anybody have any idea as to why the oil in my baler is overheating? New filter had the dealer change every valve and put a new filter on it. Roll two bales and it just quits! Oil is foamy and super hot?? Thanks in advance.

I am not a round baler expert. We have a RB 46 Silage Baler in Challenger colors. It is a beast of a baler. Shortly after we purchased it an update kit was installed on the hydraulic system. I can't remember why it was installed. Even with the kit installed, it ran hot during a very short, low yield crop. It was determined that by going through the tying-unloading cycle the oil is cooled. We were not cycling the baler often enough, because of the low yielding crop. It never happened in a heavy crop, once the kit was installed. I believe the kit was paid for by the manufacturer. I hope this helps and that our balers are of similar design. Can you make smaller bales to cycle the baler more often? Just a thought.

Keep the fluid in the system close to the full mark and keep the hydraulic system clean. Blow the hydraulic system off with an air compressor.
