6600 Reel Drive Pump Belt

I need to replace the belt for the pump that drives the reel on my 6600. The operators manual has nothing about replacing that belt, only how to adjust it. Can I just take the belt off of the primary countershaft to replace the reel pump drive belt or will I have to have to take the hydrostat drive belts off also? I'm thinking a trip to the JD dealer to look at a shop manual might be a good idea. This doesn't look like a fun job! Chris

Hydro belts have to come off too. The reel drive belt is behind the Hydro and the main thresher belt. IF you go that far replace the unloading auger belt while your there. I also usually install two belts. I just wire tie the other belt out of the way to where is does not hit/rub anything. Then if I break another one I cam just cut the bad belt off and install the "extra" one without all the work.

I have seen that reel drive belt not last ten minutes if you do not hook the reel drive hoses together on top of the feeder house when using the cornhead.
