Gleaner head question

I need to remove the 238 head off my gleaner K, it doesn't have any stands so I usually set it on a couple pallets, to make hooking it back up easier should I unhook it on a level spot or going up hill slightly? Last time I put it going downhill and hooking back up was no fun.

You need to have your header level side to side , with the front of header higher just a little then the back it will make it easier to hook up.

As mentioned:

Level side to side.

Combine and header on a level plane, doesn't matter so much up or downhill, just so the combine can drive up nice and level in all directions to the way the head is sitting, not uneven ground.

Have the front on a higher bit of wood than the rear, so the throat of the head is angled backwards. Do you have the quick tach hooks, or the older 4 prongs - you need to hit the 4 prongs pretty square on fussy, the quick thatch top pipe and hooks is easy to grab as long as you have the head tilted backwards.
