John Deere quick-tatch pick-up head

Where in the country might one be able to find a JD quick-tatch dummy head with a mechanical drive pickup?? Or a Gleaner K mechanical drive pickup. I can mount either to the K2, as I have a feederhouse adapter. Nobody ever had such a thing in these parts. All direct-cut.

Plenty of them around here....northern states where grain is swathed. By mechanical driven you mean chain/belt, not ground driven? Not hyd driven?

Should be able to mount a Renn or a Sund pickup attatchment onto the direct cut head---remove the reel, and the pickup should bolt onto the knife guide after removing two knife guards and there should be a pulley or two that will accept a belt from the reel drive to turn the whole unit.Oh, and remove sickle drive arm too!!

I'll second what centash said mainly because it might be easier to find and haul just the pickup unit instead of the whole header. That is how it was done around here into the 70s. Our first full pickup header was on a MF 760 we bought new in 1979. Before that we mounted the pickup on a straight cut header.
