Pulling a 95 combine home

Has anyone pulled a combine like a john Deere 95 down the road? I have two I need to move and one doesn't run so thinking of using a fixed (won't pivot) towbar. Any advice would be appreciated

I have pulled JI Case 1660 combines home backward. Jacked the rear up and took the wheels off and chained the rear axle to a two wheel plow dolly. Pulled them over 100 miles that way. On smaller combines, made a tow bar to go under the rear axle and pulled backward.

With a towbar on back axle will the wheels follow or fight it? Thinking I could unhook steering cylinder to relieve pressure for turning. Only going approx 25 miles

I use a car dolly. Moved several like that.Back the steering axle on the dolly, chain it down. Block header for safety. Unhook the final drives to save the transmission.Make sure the tires are fully inflated, even a couple pounds over.Drive.Pulled several with my '70 F100(302) 2wd.

Would you happen to have an extra quik tach feederhouse that you would sell? I am looking for one for my 95 as I bought a 444 corn head to replace my 435.Thanks Tom

I moved a Gleaner F with an A-frame bar attached to the steering axle. Works ok as long as you take wide corners. For a dead M2, towed 90 miles behind a tractor, I made a hitch that clamped to/pivoted on, the steering axle, and I used the combine drag link to connect to the pole for steering. I like the idea of a dolly- kind of a universal fit for many machines.

This worked for me but I only went about 10 miles. Took my time on back roads. Swung wide corners and just left the transmission in neutral.
